Who We Are
Bianchetti & Minoja (B&M) is one of Italy’s most highly regarded intellectual property firms.
Our practice was founded in 1976 by Giuseppe Bianchetti and we specialise in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine and biotechnology. As a boutique intellectual property firm in these sectors we have built unique skills in each of our specific areas of expertise.
Our Italian and international client portfolio includes SMEs and multinational corporations, research institutes and universities, and our services cover the many and varied technical, legal and administrative aspects relating to intellectual property.
Giuseppe Bianchetti graduated with high distinction in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Milan, later also earning a degree in pharmacy. In 2004 the University of Milan awarded him an honorary degree in Medicinal Chemistry. As a tenured full-professor of organic chemistry, he taught at the University of Milan’s Faculty of Pharmacy until 1992, also lecturing in chemistry of heterocyclic compounds and pharmaceutical chemistry.
He published almost 100 scientific papers in specialised Italian and international journals and co-authored two books on organic chemistry.
Giuseppe Bianchetti was an active member of the Italian Society of Chemistry and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
He began working in industrial property in 1955. He founded B&M in 1976 and was one of the leading consultants on industrial property matters for the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors until he passed away in 2015.
